In book two of the Mary Hardy Series, Mary Hardy, the first female Texas Ranger, and her Ranger husband Jack, are sent into the Oklahoma Territory to rescue and arrest the Murtog gang following a bank robbery and murder. During their escape from the Oklahoma Territory, the Rangers are engaged in a bloody running gun battle that ends in a showdown at Medicine Mound. The avenging outlaws follow them home where the Rangers devise risky plan for the pending street battle with the gang. Should the plan fail their hometown will be under siege. It’s a desperate gamble, but the only option available to the Texas Rangers.

IN THE ROMANCE, IT WAS A LITTLE GRAPHIC AND EVERYTHING CAME TOGETHER TOO QUICKLY (UNREAL). IN THE WESTERN PART, IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE. FOR THE TEXAS RANGERS, EVERYTHING WAS TOO EASILY ACHIEVED. OUTLAWS KILLED TOO QUICKLY, TRAILS TOO EASY TO FOLLOW. PLEASE!!!!! PUT A LITTLE MORE ACTION AND SUSPENSE INTO THE BOOK. THIS WAS MY SECOND IN THE FOUR (4) BOOK SERIES OF HARDY. I think it was good held my interst in the story live. i have read #1 and have #3 to read yet .i like the series.
good book
Having read another novel (Panhandle Blizzard) by this author, I was surprised and disappointed in this one. It reads like it might have been a first novel, kind of awkward in places. Same applies to the sequel.
These stories are well written and interesting. Life then was different, not better or worse. While reading about the "bad guys" you are also reading a love story.
The second book in the series of Hardy continues with gunfights, kidnapping and a rescue. tracing criminals into Oklahoma, Show downs with outlaw gangs and wild adventures that make the Gunfight at the OK Corral seem like a Sunday School Picnic. Hardy has some really modern ideas for a Victorian Woman and is not at all shy about sharing her views with those in her inner circle.
My second from this author. I found this one difficult to put down at many points. Good action, good characters, bad and the hero's and heroines. I do have questions about the accuracy described in both pistols and rifles at times at the distances mentioned. Whatever, I highly recommend this book to other readers.
The Reynolds family are all drawn into fighting outlaws in Texas and Oklahoma with the help of help of the army, Ranger friends, local sheriffs and the people of their home town. As expected the book has action, adventure, violence and romance. Everyone must help when outlaws follow the Rangers home
I enjoy the sense of family and community in this book, but the misused or misspelled word choices in this book will make some readers want to take action of their own.
